VideoAmerican Idol - Shout to the Lord 4-10-2008Apr 12, '08 6:57 AM
for everyone
American Idol Top 8 reprises "Shout to the Lord" at the April 10, 2008 Results Show. They first sang this song as the finale of the Idol Gives Back show the night before. In that previous show they changed the original first line "My Jesus..." to "My Shepherd..." Good thing they changed it back to the original lyrics in this performance.

Too bad Michael Johns was eliminated. He was one of my favorites this season. My top 3... David Cook, David Archuleta & Carly Smithson.

I don't watch "American Idol" as much as Marilou. I've always thought "idols" are meant for destruction. But when I read from a Christian news online about this, I thought - wow, that's a fantastic acknowledgment not just of Hillsong's Darlene but of God, the Author of music! Thanks Neil - by the way, with your great looks and very gentle rapport you should apply as host of the show - I understand the present one is retiring soon. Or maybe Ptr Ferdie - but then, even if offered to him in golden platter, he wouldn't have time.

This is awesome! Michael Johns is one of my top 3 along with David Archuleta and David Cook. I think David Archuleta will be the next AI just because he is so popular specially among the teens here in the states. But don't count David Cook out yet. Who knows if he's 'Cook-ing' up something that would surprise everybody just like what Ruben Studdard did years back.

Thanks for posting this! It brought tears to my eyes...This is the prayer of my heart...that the entertainment industry all throughout the world will honor God...and that it be used to bring people unto Him! There is hope! The entertainment arts belong to God!

Grabe talaga to bro! Our family only watches one tv show... American Idol. We got hooked 3 years ago. I was so shocked when they sang this at Idol Gives Back! Can't believe it! Goosebumps talaga! Imagine after all the big stars coming out that night then the finale is a worship to Jesus! Probably shown all over the world! Our favorite is David Cook. Have you seen his rendition of Billy Jean? But David Archuleta is a sure star! He's got the looks, the voice, charisma.
If you saw the week before, their coach was Dolly Parton. She also sang a worship song and boldly gave glory to Jesus! I think the judges were stunned!

Tempting, but I'll have to pass up the opportunity (if ever there is one). Thanks for your vote of confidence, though. =)

So was Ruben Studdard and Fantasia Barrino. But Carly will have to pull up a miracle to outstage the 2 Davids.

I was pleasantly surprised myself as I watched the show. I hope more and more of this would take place in the entertainment industry all over the world.

I was stunned, then upset as well. Nevertheless, I think he will still land a recording deal.

I loved that performance, together with Michael Johns' "We are the Champions."

I love David Cook! He's the best one! But I think he shouldn't win. And he'll have a better career than the winner, just like Daughtry. If he wins, it will limit him. Archie will benefit the most from winning I think.

I like Brooke White too, though she's not the best one. She'll have a career though. This is the best season yet!

Ya, I was happy to see them put Jesus back in the second performance, but the best song this year was Dolly Parton's "Jesus and Gravity". I want to sing that in church.
