Blog EntryIt Gets Better Every GenerationJun 21, '07 1:23 AM
for everyone
This photo was taken during the recent Victory Fort Staff Outing at Punta De Uian,
Zambales. Nice shot of new babies with their young parents. As I took this shot, I couldn't help but think that most of these young parents got saved in their teens or even earlier.

I remember Dennis Sy being discipled in his teens by Pastor Ferdie Cabiling and Omeng Cervantes. By the way, Dennis' wife, Thammie, is pregnant! =)

Carlos Antonio and wife Belle (nee Hiadan), were part of my small group during their college years in the University of the Philippines in Diliman when we were planting the Victory Quezon City church.

I remember LA Mumar (as a child of less than 10 years of age) running around in Children's Church of then Victory Makati. LA's then good friend and now better half (naks!) Macy got saved in her teens and became part of Victory Shangri-La (or was it in Valle Verde or Galleria already?).

Chi Chi Tangco (nee Cariaga) also got saved in her freshman year in UP Diliman when I was the Campus Director for Victory Quezon City. Miko Tangco, in his teens, would always join our fellowship times in the house of his cousins Omeng, Jeng, Crunchie & Omar Cervantes in Tondo. He then eventually joined us in Victory Makati and got saved.

I remember Archie Castillo of then Victory Taft mesmerizing us with his guitar skills in every wedding. He was either in his late teens or early twenties then.

It is so great to have seen them grow up in the Lord and become Godly parents. Now their babies (Alyanna Sy, Hannah Antonio, Lorenzo Mumar, Yumi Tangco & AG Castillo) will have a chance to get saved and discipled even earlier than all of them. What a great time to be born with great Christian parents. They are indeed blessed in their generation. I can't wait to see how they will grow up to be great men and women of God, and as leaders in their generation! It really does get better every generation in Christianity!

Fascinating. thanks for reminding all of us the reality that building families, churches, nations is generational.

Thanks, Neil! Caloy and I will always be thankful to you for lovingly and patiently teaching us to love God during our younger years when all we wanted were to be young, spoiled and rebellious. hehehe You and Blanche have been very instrumental in our christian walk. Thanks again.

thanks Neil for patiently (and I do mean patiently) standing with me and speaking into my life during my college days. I can honestly say that the blessings my family is experiencing from God is directly related to the decisions I made in my youth. Thanks for helping me see the big picture and for modeling real Christianity to me.

Neil, one of my favorite Bible character is Zadok, a priest and warrior of David. He raised his children well. In fact, his descendants were the only ones allowed by God to minister before Him in post-exilic days because of their faithfulness to God.Most of the Levites were unfaithful but not the Zadokites. (Ezekiel 44). The Bible speaks of 14 generations from David to the Exiles (Matt.1:17). My prayer is that all parents will have the characteristic of Zadok and that we will find our children serving God even 14 generations from now. (That is if Jesus does not come yet!)
